Testing the SJ4000 Full HD 1080P Camera Sports Action Camera from WISH

I inserted a 32GB microSD card into the camera and took it for a ride on my bike using the handlebar mount. The footage was so shaky that I had to run it through YouTube's stabilizer.

1st Time Playing ARMA 3

First Impressions

Trying to play this game online with genuine multiplayer made me respect how difficult the controls can be to get right. I think it was not being able to communicate with my team for the first half of everything that remarkably got me lost. Overall the game appears to merit its reputation for excellent graphics, great sound, and an enthusiastic following.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

During this time, the Jedi Order has been almost completely wiped out by the Sith. The game begins with the protagonist waking up from unconsciousness on an asteroid mining facility. After he or she escapes with the help of their party members, they find the person who exiled them ten years ago, who sends the protagonist on a mission to seek out the remaining Jedi to fight against the Sith.

Medal of Honor Airborne

Medal of Honor: Airborne is a World War II first-person shooter video game and the 11th installment of the Medal of Honor series. It was developed by EA Los Angeles and was released worldwide on Mobile phones in August 2007, and on Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in September 2007.

The game was released for free on Xbox Live's ongoing Games with Gold promotion. I downloaded it for the Xbox One.

Death Star DLC: Blast on Defense Sector

Death Star DLC: Blast on Defense Sector

In this episode I play a round of Blast (basically a team deathmatch gametype) on the Defense Sector map. These Death Star DLC maps were made available for free on Xbox Live for one weekend only. Defense Sector is one of three interior maps featured in the Death Star expansion.

Revisiting Star Wars Battlefront

Xbox Live Free Play Weekend: Death Star DLC

I recently decided to revisit this game during Xbox Live's free Death Star DLC promotion. This is the first match I played during the weekend and I plan on having more uploaded this weekend. This match wasn't part of the DLC but was a Fighter Squadron match on Hoth instead.

Test Flying a Cheap Drone

Tech Specs

These are the exact details as given in the included instructions. I noted my actual experiences with bold comments in the list below. The actual flight time was about what the instuctions outlined. The main issue seems to be with the controller antenna, which could make for an interesting DIY upgrade project.

Features

  • 360° flips & tricks
  • 2 speed settings
  • 6-axis gyroscope
  • 0.3 MP camera (photo & video) with SD-card slot
  • Control distance: up to 150 feet (actually 40-50 feet)
  • Headless Mode
  • Auto-Reverse
  • LED Navigation Lights
  • Operating time: 6-8 minutes
  • Charge time: 60-80 minutes

Includes

  • 2.4 GHz remote control: requires 6 AA batteries (not included)
  • Built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery
  • USB cable for battery recharge
  • 4GB SD card
  • Screwdriver
  • 4 replacement rotors
  • User's guide & warranty
The drone performs well on a full charge. However, it will rapidly lose that charge as you fly and video recording seems to drain it rather quickly. The two main takeaways from this test seem to be that the controller's range is low and the battery life is really short. Pressing the video or photo record buttons turned out to be rather hit or miss.I'm considering packing my Chromebook for future flights so I can insert the SD card and verify that footage has been recorded. Upgrading the battery is going to require some extra research and testing as it is a cheap part that will likely need some custom modifications in order to support an upgrade.
